Kelly Tanks partnered with NSCG to present the Apprenticeship Award for the second time. We welcomed Liebherr, National Plant Solutions, Quattro Plant, GenAir, Thomas Plant Hire, and McHale Komatsu, to see their respective apprentices receive recognition for their efforts and progress, and receive various Makita tool sets as prizes for winners and runners up.

Recognised for excellence

We invited 6 apprentices, with a total of 4 awards up for grabs. The award for first year apprentices went to Kai Roberts of National Plant Solutions, a Level 3 Construction Equipment Maintenance Technician, with Jack Keightley of GenAir as the runner up. Next was the award for second year apprentices, which was won by Jack Lovesey of Liebherr, a Level 3 Land-Based Service Engineering Technician, with the runner up being John-David Urquhart of Thomas Plant Hire. As for the winner of the of the award for third year apprentices, that was won by Oliver Noble of Quattro Plant Hire, a Level 3 Land-Based Service Engineering Technician.

However, it was third year Christopher Nelson of McHale Komatsu, a Level 3 Land-Based Service Engineering Technician, who picked up the Kelly Tanks Choice award for his excellent, heartfelt submission and outstanding performance and growth as an apprentice.

Why we believe in supporting apprentices

Apprentices are the future, so we believe supporting them is vital to the continued growth of both the plant and construction industries. For this reason, Kelly Tanks often takes on apprentices to teach skills that will not only help them in their careers, but in their lives.

Giving recognition to those who go the extra mile in their learning both onsite and in the classroom and rewarding them for their effort is, in our opinion, a great way to encourage young people to continue down the path to achieve excellence in their career.

The next generation, shaping a sustainable future

A major focus of this event was sustainability, which is one of our most important values at Kelly Tanks. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, our solutions designed specifically for protecting the environment and those in it.

We believe that supporting younger generations and instilling the importance of sustainability early in their careers is the key to building a better future. The apprentices recognised at this event showed great understanding beyond their years of what it means to be not only efficient, but to be responsible for their impact on the environment, and how to minimize it.

If these recognised individuals are anything to go by, the future in the plant industry looks bright.
